Heaven 2: Born into the Better Life

By |2022-05-10T22:59:00+00:00January 8th, 2021|Theology|

Many of you saw the viral video where a man chased a woman around a store here in the US for not having a mask on. The fact he was not only not afraid of catching a virus from a maskless woman but pursued her anyway to conform to his totalitarian mindlessness became proof to millions of Americans not just how lost humanity in 2020 had become, but perhaps how much insanity we must brace for in 2021.   This may depress a lot of people to read this first paragraph, but I think if the early Christians were alive today they would simply laugh at how old and ridiculous [...]

Heaven 1: The Beauty of Your Majesty

By |2022-05-10T22:56:21+00:00January 7th, 2021|Theology|

There is a modern idea that God will forgive everything on one's death bed and let everyone into heaven, but the collect in the Traditional Latin Mass for Epiphany (prayed all week, several times a week in both the Divine Office and every Mass until Sunday) teaches us something very important about getting to heaven.

Scapular Enrollment: The Best Gift You Can Give Your Family

By |2020-12-24T23:25:12+00:00December 24th, 2020|Theology|

The scapular is found in the featured image above.  It is a garment dedicated to Mary and worn around the neck by Catholics through the centuries.  Those who wear it are promised two major things, known as the Sabbatine Privilege:  No hell.  "The Blessed Virgin of Mt. Carmel has promised to save those who wear the scapular from the fires of hell."—Scapular insert Reduced Purgatory.  "I, the Mother of Grace, shall descend on the Saturday after their death and whomsoever I shall find in Purgatory, I shall free, so that I may lead them to the holy mountain of life everlasting."—Mary, the Mother of God. As we Catholics believe one [...]

Implicit Desire for Baptism vs. Rahner’s “Anonymous Christian”

By |2020-11-12T20:16:41+00:00November 11th, 2020|Theology|

https://youtu.be/TUJBuDxl9pI In the above video, I read the following two question out of the Catechism of Pope St. Pius X: 27 Q. Can one be saved outside the Catholic, Apostolic and Roman Church? A. No, no one can be saved outside the Catholic, Apostolic Roman Church, just as no one could be saved from the flood outside the Ark of Noah, which was a figure of the Church. 29 Q. But if a man through no fault of his own is outside the Church, can he be saved? A. If he is outside the Church through no fault of his, that is, if he is in good faith, and if [...]

Earthly Things Part 2: The Days of Lawlessness

By |2020-07-05T01:48:00+00:00July 5th, 2020|Theology|

Many prayerful Catholics have been noticing that much of 2 Thessalonians 2 seems to be materializing over the past few years. In fact, it seems prophesies from the Old Testament are being fulfilled. One older friend of mine who is a covert from evangelical Protestant to Catholic believes the "abomination of desolation" (Dan 9:27 and Mt 24:15) was the placement of the Martin Luther statute into the Vatican in October of 2016 (nearly four years ago): Consider also how a priest friend of mine recently pointed out that 2 Thess 2:10 asserts that a group of people during a global "rebellion" will "refuse to love the truth and so be [...]

Earthly Things: Part 1

By |2020-06-30T22:52:36+00:00June 30th, 2020|Theology|

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oz8wXNUdMO8 Consider four current issues of "debated" truth: 1) In the above video, Sean Hannity names numerous racist things that Joe Biden said starting at minute 3:30.  This includes terms like "racial jungle" and "predators on our streets."  Biden even describes South Asians as having a "slight Indian Accent..at 7-11 or Dunkin' Donuts."  This is not to mention Biden's newest goof of telling a black radio host that unless he vote for him, "You ain't black."  Of course, President Trump has never said anything remotely close to this racist (before or during his presidency. ) 2) In the below tweet, I mention a medical fact that many young women in first [...]

To Die in Sanctifying Grace Podcast

By |2020-06-27T13:51:12+00:00June 26th, 2020|Podcasts, Sermons, Talks|

Today's podcast looks at three New Testament clues to what it means to die in sanctifying grace. The featured image on the blog section of this podcast is a picture I took in Haiti. The original name for this podcast was: "According to Catholicism, what must you do to be saved." However, I thought that sounded too subjective whereas the answers I give are objective: Those who die in sanctifying grace are saved and those who die in mortal sin go to hell. We skip the loopholes to look at the meat and potatoes of getting your family to heaven.

Transpontina: Why Would God Let This Happen?

By |2019-10-31T13:26:20+00:00October 26th, 2019|Theology|

Most Catholics know that the Vatican placed in the Roman Church Santa Maria Transpontina (St. Mary's Across the River) a display  of indigenous costumes for the "Amazon Synod" this month (October 2019.)  This transformed the beautiful and ancient Church of Our Lady into a kitschy display jungle items and pagan rituals.  The first problem with this is a violation of the First Commandment.  The second problem with this is that it is racist:  A  white liberal hierarchy imposed paganism on indigenous peoples of Brazil.  I know this to be a political (or diabolical) move because the native people of Brazil do not promote such rituals in their Catholic Churches.  (As [...]
