Upcoming Trial for a Necessity-Based Rescue

By |February 23rd, 2023|

I've been arrested twice in abortion centers, once in the picture above in New Jersey.  Our arrests with Red Rose Rescue are always for peacefully asking women not to kill their children.  The last of my two arrests was the summer of 2019.  Because of scamdemic lockdowns, the NJ justice system is only getting around to our trial now, in 2023.  That's almost four years late! Normally, I would not be facing prison time for a simple misdemeanor of trespassing in a killing-center.  However, the Department of Justice is now making an example of pro-lifers as seen in recent news.  LifeSite News also ran this story about me in 2019 that corresponds to the above picture of my friends Fr. Fidelis and Will Goodman (and myself.) 2 priests, 2 pro-life activists arrested trying to save babies inside New Jersey abortion center. This [...]

From Liberal-Catholic to Neo-Con to Traditionalist

By |February 12th, 2023|

I originally wrote this at the request of a traditional Catholic magazine, but they rejected it based on a misunderstanding of expectations, so I publish it here.  The below is basically a summary of the three different intellectual conversions in my life.  (I'll spare you the moral conversions until another time, but you can find some of that below, too.) Growing up in Denver in the 1980s, my family didn’t have a lot of options as far as diversity of parishes. Nearly everything was progressive. Most parishes were run by liberal Vincentians, as was our St. Thomas seminary. I attended Most Precious Blood in the city for ten years. I exited that parish and school with almost no catechesis. The closest thing I had to catechesis growing up is that my parents had on evangelical radio all afternoon.  It was [...]

A Narc and Her Flying Monkeys

By |February 4th, 2023|

You would think that after I was on Dr. Taylor Marshall's show late last year explaining boundaries to narcissism, those very narcissists would leave me alone.  But recently an angry woman (who left the traditional Catholic-movement a couple years ago) snagged a very broken man (who had been abused by a priest as a child, and later left the Catholic Church—not JS) to harass and divide some high-profile friends of mine in the traditional Catholic world, including myself (the smallest fish in that group of online professionals she attacked.) That woman Narc employed that man as a flying-monkey (a groupy who spreads lies) to conquer and divide those Catholics she could no longer be a part of.  Happily, we saw through the strategy and ignored her.  I'm not writing about this to be, um, narcissistic, about what happened.  But it's [...]

“Walk for Life” in San Francisco

By |January 22nd, 2023|

Two disclaimers before a short blog post:  1) I am sorry I didn't contact many friends or benefactors before coming to the Bay Area.  It was a quick trip for the Walk for Life.  I briefly stayed at Star of the Sea parish (above) a thriving parish of the Archdiocese of San Francisco. The pastor is Fr. Joseph Illo.  Fr. Illo and I were both in Mass of the Ages Part 1 and Part 2, discussing the TLM.  2)  I used to go to the March for Life in Wash DC every year but I stopped going because there is not a penitential enough tone to the March.  We should not be celebrating until God has ended abortion in this country.  And even then, we will never be over the wound of 50 million surgicals and several hundred million chemicals [...]

Requiem Mass for Pope Benedict XVI

By |January 15th, 2023|

Two weeks ago, Pope Benedict XVI died.  I have been saying his name in the Memento for the dead every day, but it was recently brought to my attention that I needed to do a requiem Mass for a deceased Pontiff.  Today, I offered a requiem Mass for Pope Benedict XVI, two weeks after his death.  These black vestments were brought to me by Mark who runs the Non Veni Pacem blog, and he attended this Holy Mass.  So did some others in the state I was visiting. It's not my job to canonize or condemn Pope Benedict XVI.  It's our job as Catholics to pray for all our deceased, and he is one of them.  Mark NVP and some traditional priests and Canon212 all brought it to my attention that Pope Benedict XVI was treated worse than a dead [...]

The Orphanage Attempt

By |January 2nd, 2023|

Nota Bene: The beginning of January was going to be for silent retreat, but I'm visiting a family member in the hospital. So, either way, there will be few blogs or podcasts for a little while. Please pray for us. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia's widow, Maureen McCarthy Scalia, walks behind the casket.  p/c Reuters. On 20 February 2016 (about seven years ago) I attended the funeral Mass of Justice Antonin Scalia.  The funeral Mass was preached by his son, Fr. Paul Scalia at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington DC (see both above pictures.) After the funeral Masa, I went across the street in NE DC to have lunch with a Cardinal of South Africa.  I had set this up with his secretary in advance, with knowledge of his arrival in the USA.  Before [...]

Propane Tanks and Miraculous Medals

By |December 22nd, 2022|

If I make it to heaven, I will probably lose the glory for any good work that I bragged about. At least that's what seems clear when Our Lord says at the beginning of chapter 6 of St. Matthew: Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father Who is in heaven. Thus, when you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be praised by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward.—Mt 6:1-2.  But I also run a charity approved by Church and State, and you (my donors) probably need to know that your money goes to more than an internet ministry.  So, I'll [...]

A Dumpling Story

By |December 20th, 2022|

I went out with a Filipino friend for Korean dumplings today and our server was a 30-year-old woman who barely spoke English. I gave her a Miraculous Medal (with a chain on it, of course) and explained that it was Mary the mother of Jesus, and Jesus promises lots of graces for anyone who wears it. She happily accepted it and she told me she was a Catholic. I asked if she was a Korean (thinking that, since there are lots of Korean Catholics and because we were in a Korean restaurant.) She told me she was Mongolian. Now, I've met Catholics from all over the world, but this truly blew my mind, because for anyone who has traveled, we know that there are barely any Mongolian Catholics. I honestly thought I would die before I met a Mongolian Catholic. [...]

Some New Liturgical Gifts

By |December 12th, 2022|

Wednesday morning is my time of praying at the third largest Planned Parenthood in the world.  It is called Park Hill Planned Parenthood, located in the Stapleton neighborhood.   Who is Stapleton?  Ben Stapleton was a 20th century mayor of Denver who was a member of both the Democrat party and the KKK.  (Yes, you read that correctly and can corroborate it in the first paragraph of his Wiki page.)  Here at the Stapleton Planned Parenthood, clinicians surgically kill 10,000 babies a year, as well as countless chemical abortions and now "gender-therapy."  This pre-born killing center is located in a black and hispanic neighborhood, just as a Democrat-Klansman would want. The above image was given to me by the Ton family.  They are also on my Wednesday pro-life team.  It is obviously a large, laminated image of Our Lady of Guadalupe. [...]

The Eastern Orthodox Never Had a Vatican II

By |December 2nd, 2022|

Recently, I visited an Eastern Orthodox Monastery in East Texas called Holy Archangels Monastery.  Upon arrival, they were extremely friendly and hospitable.  But they made it mildly clear that I was not on the right path as a Roman Catholic.  And I made it clear we didn't agree on things like the Filioque.  Ironically, for our love of objective truth over friendly interactions, we got along even better than if we had established a peace-pact on false ecumenism.  They were true traditionalists, although of a different tradition.  They received me warmly, especially when they saw I wasn't going to say something stupid like "Isn't it great we all believe basically the same thing?" As I walked through the monastery refrectory, I saw (and smelled) how clean and natural their life was.  It reminded me how healthy was a life of [...]
