Viganò’s Letter to the CDF on Inoculation Fallout

By |2023-01-28T09:35:32+00:00October 27th, 2022|Theology|

The following is Archbishop Vigano’s autumn 2022 letter to Cardinal Luis Ladaria Ferrer SJ, the Prefect of the Sacred Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith on the Catholic Church's accountability regarding the damages of the COVID-19 vaccine. Notice in the following that the italicized word Note is a reference to a document, not just a “note" as we have in English.  Also, this letter is originally found with the full letterhead here, but I reproduce it for the sake of ease of sharing without having pop-up ads (which my blog will hopefully never contain.) 18 October 2022 Your Eminence, Last year, on October 23, 2021, I wrote a letter [...]

Is This Church-Crisis a Mousetrap for All Heresies?

By |2022-10-22T14:57:34+00:00October 25th, 2022|Theology|

St. Augustine wrote about the Passion and Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ: The Devil exulted when Christ died, and by that very death of Christ the Devil was overcome: he took food, as it were, from a trap. He gloated over the death as if he were appointed a deputy of death; that in which he rejoiced became a prison for him. The cross of the Lord became a trap for the Devil; the death of the Lord was the food by which he was ensnared. And behold, our Lord Jesus Christ rose again. Where is the death which hung upon the cross? Where is the reviling of the [...]

Walking the Highline Canal

By |2022-10-21T03:14:07+00:00October 22nd, 2022|Life|

Recently, I was praying my Roman Breviary while walking a beautiful autumn evening around the Highline canal trail, just south of Denver.  I was born in the city-limits of Denver.  I grew up in the city-limits of Denver, and ever since I was 12 years old, I loved maps and riding my bike around the Highline Canal.   Now, 30 years later, I find myself still on the same trails.  This autumn, as I walked the above trail praying the old Divine Office, I thought a lot of what has happened in twelve years since my ordination as a Catholic priest.  As I walked and thought, I remembered an event that [...]

The Speed of Science and Superstition

By |2022-10-25T16:39:07+00:00October 20th, 2022|Theology|

https://youtu.be/mnxlxzxoZx0 Many of you have already seen the above 45 second clip where Mr. Roos, a conservative member of the European Parliament, asks a Pfizer representative named Mrs. Small if Pfizer even tested their Covid-19 vaccine on stopping the transmission of the Covid-19 virus before its international rollout.  Mrs. Small replies, "No [laugh]... We had to really move at the speed of science to really understand what is taking place in the market.  And from that point of view, we had to do everything at-risk." So, notice that the Dutchman Mr. Roos is not asking about a certain amount of studies.  Rather, he is simply asking if Pfizer did any [...]

The Evil of Feminism in Moral Theology

By |2022-10-18T16:05:20+00:00October 18th, 2022|Theology|

While it's true that this blog post is about the evil of feminism in moral theology, it's not about women, nor does it refer to sixth-commandment violations (except two passing examples.) Also, most of my readers would hopefully not conflate traditional Catholicism's rejection of feminism with an acceptance of violent misogyny or an arrogant machismo. Obviously, one evil does not balance out another evil.  But feminism attempts to overturn a hierarchy that God has given to creation and to the family. The first aspect of hierarchy that is theologically rejected by feminism (implicitly, not explicitly) is that the Creator comes before the creature, in eternity and importance. That is, God is [...]

Mary, Destroyer of All Heresies Part II

By |2022-10-09T19:53:50+00:00October 13th, 2022|Theology|

In Part I, we discussed how Mary's interior life was entirely God-centered (not man-centered) and how her life, although ordinary in her daily duties, was a string of miracles from her Conception to her Assumption.  Miracles overturns the heresy of modernism which is primarily a man-centered version of Catholicism that looks through the ancient faith through natural goggles instead of the supernatural vision given to us by Divine Revelation. I release this blog on 13th of October which is not only the anniversary of the greatest miracle since the Resurrection (namely, the miracle of the sun seen at Fatima by 70,000 believers and unbelievers alike on 13 Oct 1917) but [...]

Mary, Destroyer of All Heresies Part I

By |2022-10-11T13:03:03+00:00October 11th, 2022|Theology|

Although she is the most tender of mothers, Mary has also been known for centuries as "the destroyer of all heresies." Why? Most of my readers probably know from Church history that any correction of a Marian heresy was usually de facto a correction of a Christological heresy afflicting the faithful. For example, Bishop Antonio de Castro Mayer (of holy memory) points out that "the Council of Ephesus taught categorically and definitively that in Jesus Christ there is only one person, the Person of the Son of God, in which subsist two natures, really distinct, the divine nature, by which Jesus Christ is truly God, and the human nature which [...]
