In the late 1990s, I was an EMT. (I was not yet a paramedic, for that would come two years later when I returned to my hometown of Denver.) Living in Boston from 1996-2000, I brought pediatric patients in an ambulance to Boston Children’s Hospital. It was the number-one Children’s Hospital in the world, long before it had gender-mutilating clinics against children. I went to Boston in the late 1990s thinking it was a pretty Catholic city. Little did I know that the Spotlight scandals of decades of priests molesting children would explode shortly after I graduated pre-med from a Jesuit University, Boston College, in 2000.
On 22 Nov 22, Tucker Carlson Tonight played that above 30-second clip from Boston Children’s Hospital promoting their gender-clinic for kids. Tucker then commented on the above clip (or on-mobile here):
“That is not science. That doesn’t bare any resemblance to science. That’s scary. And yet the media choose to ignore it. Why? Because no decent person can look that or any of that in the face without wincing because it’s just too awful. It has nothing to do with medicine. It has nothing to do with improving the lives of patients or making this a better country. No. It is a dangerous cult that is causing irreparable harm to children. Not just a few, but a lot. Now at some point when this spell breaks, our entire society will recognize this because it’s obvious, and we will all recoil in shame that we ever tolerated it for a second. But we’re not there yet.”
Tucker has been using religious language a lot more to describe the left. Notice in the above quote he used the word “cult” and even “spell” to describe the left. Earlier this year, Tucker said he now recognized that we are no longer in a political battle, but a spiritual battle. And he admits he was so hesitant to come to this conclusion after periods in his life of being ambivalent about his Episcopalian faith. I too would have thought someone was crazy five years ago if they had said to me, “Hey, in five years, you will categorize the left of this country as an entire religion of secularism that is tantamount to Satanism.” I’m a little frightened by that conclusion. I don’t like it at all. But we have to admit there are now two major religions in this country: Christianity and Leftism/Secularism/Satanism. And it is the left that has a lot more zeal and courage than the right. That is why we are losing.
We Catholics need to stop finding good things with the left for the “sake of the new evangelization.” The left does not care about women; they mock them in drag in the White House. The left does not care about immigrants; they traffic them at the border, including collaboration with the despicable Catholic Charities. The left does not care about the poor; they farm out their work to slave labor in Asia. The left doesn’t stand against racism; they profit from slaughterhouses make to murder pre-born black kids. The left in the Catholic Church does not care about mercy; they lie to people about the need to avoid repentance as they ratify the consciences of the most vulnerable in society, including the alphabet-soup community. The left does not care about born-children; they mutilate their genitals when they are confused as teens. They also accuse others of the very things they have done. They then promote the creepiest among them to the top.
Half of this country lives in a cult, and it’s not traditional Catholics. A cult is not defined by the number of people in it, but rather by the means of manipulation and irrational beliefs that charge it. Traditional Catholics believe in a marriage of faith and reason. We actually do believe in science—both natural and theological—and that there is no contradiction between the two. How about freedom? Well, anyone can leave a TLM parish any time they want without any threats to return. (Some traditional priestly congregations have a few marks of toxic religion, but that is a topic for another day.) The left, however, is marked by constant manipulation and irrational beliefs. If you leave them, they viciously turn on you as seen in those who stand against the courageous witness of Chloe Cole.
As a whole, we American Catholics need to stop finding a “middle-ground” between Christianity as Satanism (read: Secular Leftism.) As St. Paul wrote, Bear not the yoke with unbelievers. For what participation hath justice with injustice? Or what fellowship hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? Or what part hath the faithful with the unbeliever? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God; as God saith: I will dwell in them, and walk among them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.—2 Cor 6:14-16
Of course, we need to be merciful with people walking in the darkness of the cult of the left. But they take that religion of theirs as seriously as any adherents to other false religions, like Islam. So, we must realize that that cult of the left (in both Church and State) will come to the light of true, Apostolic Catholicism only when we live in a light clothed in total courage. We must never deny Jesus Christ or the fact that He has declared that He is the only way to the Father. There is no reaching across the aisle of Satanism anymore, for what concord hath Christ with Belial?
Live in reality without putting a small sprinkling of incense on people’s delusions.
