Richard Williamson was born in the UK during WWII in 1940. He converted from Anglicanism to Catholicism in 1971. He was later ordained a priest in 1976 and consecrated a bishop in 1988, both by Archbishop Lefebvre. Retired Naval Academy professor Dr. David Allen White wrote that Bishop Williamson is “the most outspoken, detested, persistent, outrageous, implacable, unyielding, forthright, kindly and charitable Catholic Bishop."
