Are there traditionalists willing to make a deal with the devil? Are there American traditional Catholics willing to ignore yet another prelate’s destruction of the faith in order to keep their own local Traditional Latin Mass (TLM)? Are there allegedly-traditional Cardinals, teachers, priests, influencers or bishops willing to ignore yet another non-Catholic-in-white destroying the Faith just to save their local devotional life?
Such is the approach I see in the Catholic media over the last week. But it is neither Catholic, nor is it charitable to make a pact with enemies of the Faith for temporary peace on the liturgical field when the souls of billions of unbelievers are still at-stake.
Would you keep your local TLM for yourself at the price of your grandchildren not having the faith? You see, I don’t have biological children or biological grandchildren, but I do have spiritual children. So, I’m going to keep defending the traditional Faith against heretics in the alleged-hierarchy of the Catholic Church for the sake of my spiritual children’s biological children.
As much as I love the old sacraments, I’m not going to turn in my inheritance (the faith) for a bowl of porridge (the TLM, See Gen 25:34.) Keep in mind, when you make a deal with the devil, not only do you lose what you thought you had to give up (the faith) but you also lose the very thing you thought the devil would let you keep (the TLM.)
I’m writing this in code for two reasons: 1) I don’t know exactly what happened between “conservative and liberal Cardinals” in Rome, but I suspect it was bad. However, since I don’t know for sure, I can’t make any accusations on paper. 2) I don’t need to bring upon my head any unjust persecution, at least not yet.
All I know is that not a single hero of the Old Testament or New Testament ever compromised with the enemies of Israel out of some type of strategy to save their own skin, or even devotional life. For example, when God commanded the razing of a town belonging to the Canaanites, anyone who made a deal with them or even escaped with a little idol (like a little Pachamama doll or something) was struck down by God. Killed and sent to hell. Only the heroes like Joshua and Caleb enter the Holy Land. This is true—not only despite all human odds—but even despite all human-based logic.
What I see coming down the pike in Rome is more promotion of the heresy of religious indifferentism (the heresy all religions will get you to heaven, usually put under the pretext of the hijacked word “ecumenism”) but done this time with a little more Latin, a little more incense and a little more meekness than before. Will we let the missionary-spirit of Christ crucified fall by the wayside because we are allowed to keep the TLM a little longer? Will we sacrifice billions of pagans’ souls on the altar of convenience for being yet further victims of this Catholic Stockholm Syndrome in being thrown a few bones of sacramental concessions by our captors? And captors to the abused they are, as seen here.
Not me. I am going to try to sideline all strategies of damage-control and fearlessly call it as I see it, regardless of how fat of a stole someone wear. You see, I’m not going to stop teaching Apostolic Catholicism. I’m not going to stop calling out heresy, even if it come from Rome. I’m not going to stop doing the old-rite sacraments.
Ultimately, we should not make a deal with the devil on the saving faith of Catholicism just to keep our devotional life going. If we were to do that, we would eventually lose both. That’s how a deal with the devil always goes.
